For the past 18 years in Japan, I didn’t know it much of the time, but I’ve lived with a growth mindset, always telling myself, “I can figure this out.”
This approach has shaped my career journey—moving away from my home in the states to Japan—from teaching English to managing global leadership training at a top Japanese advanced materials firm to managing HR in a global financial startup. Along the way, I faced my fair share of challenges, navigating cultural differences, micromanagement and minimalist management, the complexities of multinational environments, and the stress of trying to find a way to still BE myself and grow myself in environments where it didn’t always feel possible. But each setback taught me invaluable lessons in authenticity, confidence, communication, leadership, and adaptability.
As a leadership coach for the past five years, working with hundreds of global professionals, I’ve witnessed the profound impact of burnout, misalignment in leadership and team competencies and expectations, emotional intelligence gaps, and cross-cultural misunderstandings on individuals and teams. I’ve also seen firsthand how developing self-awareness and flexible mindsets can transform these challenges into opportunities for growth, connection, and improved performance.
Research aligns with this experience, consistently linking well-being and emotional intelligence to higher engagement and performance. However, many global professionals struggle to recognize how their cultural backgrounds, automatic behaviors and unconscious expectations influence their emotional regulation, leadership effectiveness, and relationships with others.
At Neurofit Global, I help professionals understand how their nervous systems, personality traits, life experiences and behaviors shape their cognitive and emotional capabilities and resilience in impacting their leadership potential. Through coaching and training, I guide clients to raise their self-awareness, close the gaps of what they “don’t know, they don’t know,” strengthen cross-cultural emotional intelligence, and develop the strategies and behaviors needed to thrive as global leaders.
If you’re ready to transform challenge into ease, and shift from surviving to thriving, let’s connect. I’d love to explore how we can support you or your organization in reaching your full potential.

“The most important mindset I applied as a result of the program was the importance of taking the first hard steps. I also appreciated the strategies we discussed for effectively managing and motivating my new subordinates who were formerly senior to me, and managing up. I ended my program with greatly reduced team conflicts and increased confidence in my leadership role and life.
